The History of Lake Life Lagoon
In 2016 Lake Life Lagoon looked quite different- it was the new home of Boiling Fork Adventures, a kayak rental and tour base. You can still see the Facebook page for the business at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063796742764 . The venture was a dream come true for the owner and the business quickly took off. Starting with just 5 kayaks the business quickly expanded to over 70 kayaks and multiple trailers to transport guests to different parts of the lake to explore and work their way back to the Boiling Point Branch were the Adventures center was located.
At one point the business had a presence in Winchester on the main drag where you could book your rental or get more information. The web is spattered with photos from visitors kayaking adventures on sites like TripAdvisor, Google Reviews, Yelp and YouTube. Adventures ranged from 2 hour rentals that started and ended on the property to multi-day island camping adventures.
In the fall of 2020 the owner announced he would be closing the business for personal health reasons. The next season Covid-19 changed the world and the property forever. The property was purchased by a family that invests in rental properties. The did extensive work to the interior and exterior of the property to make it one of the most cozy, comfortable and desirable rentals on the entire lake. In 2024 they decided to take advantage of the hot real estate market and listed the property for sale. The current owners made an offer without even seeing the inside of the home! The 1st thing the sellers did after closing on the sale: booking the home for the next 4th of July holiday. Lake Life Lagoon was their family’s favorite place to visit on vacation!
